Writing, Research, and Technology sounded like a very interesting class when I was signing up. I was interested in learning more about the Technology of writing. I will not lie I was not interested in learning about the research part I am not big no research. The writing part was inevitable so there was no question about that. But I was very excited to learn about the technology of writing it is always changing so it is nice to learn some of it. After attending the first class I was very nervous about the many different things that were in the syllabus. I was excited to learn how to create a website I have never created one before
Blogging- A is a personal journal published on the Internet.
Writing: I am not an avid blogger but was open to the idea. I am still doing not understand people that are addicted to blogging. I must state that I did not enjoy blogging. I believe they were the structured blogs were like any other writing assignment but posted on my website not handed in on paper. I did enjoy writing certain blogs which I elaborated on such as the familiar and unfamiliar places. I do understand and agree with the assigning a topic for the blogs if not everyone would be all over the place. The assigned topics helped with ideas but I personally did not enjoy writing about them. I enjoy free topic writing that is just my personal experience.
Research: For many of the blog post were based on readings which we were then giving topics or questions to write about. I found some of the articles very hard to write about. They were researched topics I learned a lot from the articles and was able to blog about the topics with a more educated answer.
Technology: I think this is the new technology form of a paper. The blogs for this class were much like weekly papers but in blog form. This was a new way for me to write but because it was a blog it made me lean more to an informal writing technique rather than a more formal writing. When writing a paper I tend to approach it differently than I did the blog I’m not sure why this is but I could not make myself approach these blogs from a different direction.
Twitterive- is amultimodal narrative inspired by a selection of tweets and/or pictures that showcase your connection/lack of a connection with a specific place. ( Sabatino Mangini)
Writing: The twitterive started with informal writing from our twitter posts. There is also a lot of writing within the twitterive itself. I tried to stay away from writing I tried to use more technology in this project but the technology needed a little help so I added some writing.
Research: I myself did little research I have never used a wordle before so I researched how to use one and decided to use it. I also used a map quest to show the many places I moved as a child with some playing around with the technology and a little research I figured it out.
Technology: I used paint, wordle, map quest and pictures. Paint I have used but never put an image I created any were so that was different. I figured out how to use wordle for this project. I have used map quest for the normal maping out derections but was not awaire it
could do this. So I messed around with it and figured it out. I was very amazed the things technology can do.
Oral History-Interview of one participant whose stories inform and shape your Collaborative research project.
Writing:There was not a lot of writing involved in this. We had to write out questions and the introduction and afterwards. This was not a lot of writing it was more explaining and informing our readers.
Research: There was some research behind trying to figure out whom to interview. We decided we wanted to focus on how to eat organically on campus so we researched were Rowans food comes from. After finding out were the food comes from the interview was easy Kelly knows someone that works for the company so that was easy.
Technology: The technology part of this was actually uploading our interview after some difficulty we figured out how to upload it on to the
computer and then for the more difficult part or so we though were getting it on the weebly. That was not so difficult it was just uploading it to the weebly.
Collaborative Research Project-A group research and compose a project that explores a Complicated issue related to America’s production and consumption of food.
Writing:There was some writing involved after all the research. We had to create a form of portraying the information to our readers. We had to write out what we wanted to say and how we wanted it to affect them so the writing is very important to the affect it has on the reader.
Research: There was a lot of research to do to gather enough information to prove it difficult to make an organic life style and live on campus. We had to research what exactly organic is and where to find organic foods. But before all of that we had to find out if Rowan serviced any organic options which they do not.
Technology: I personally took it upon myself to learn prezi. My group wanted to just write a paper btu I decided it would be best to use technology after all it is writing research and technology. So I did I made a prezi about nothing just to practice and play around. Then I want to class and decided that we were going to do a prezi my group agreed. Only a few freak-out’s and questions later I think we all put together a pretty great prezi if I must say so myself.
